By johnboy 4 May 2013 35

ACT Policing is investigating the death of a 20-year-old Belconnen man in Campbell early this morning.

Around 12.30am police were called to a disturbance at a Campbell residence.

Upon arrival police saw a man lying on the ground. It appeared he had been struck by a vehicle as it reversed.

ACT Ambulance Service attended the scene and conveyed the man to The Canberra Hospital where he died a short time later.

AFP Forensics Services and ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are in attendance and are processing the scene.

The driver of the vehicle is assisting police with inquiries.

Investigations are ongoing.

Each and every rape, assault, theft, burglary, child abuse and drink driving offence can be explained by the history of someone’s race, sexual orientation, gender, socio-economic status or high-functioning mental illness.

Because if you were black, poor, and grew up depressed because you were surrounded by child abuse, drunkedness, violence, poverty and discrimination, you’d be a Nobel prize-winning physicist.

No, seriously, why aren’t you amazingly wealthy and internationally famous? Are you an idiot?* Lazy? Both? Or is it OK for you to say ‘well, my family started out here, and I had these chances and opportunities, and these genes, and this environment, and I’m a product of all of the above”, but not for people you just happen to find distasteful?

“Fair go for me, mate, I’ve done the best I can with the hand I was dealt (which happened to be guaranteed to have at least two pair, because I’m white, male and heterosexual) but f*ck all of you.”

*I’m going to say ‘yes’, because you’re one of these muppets who’s two pots away from bleating about ‘farkin Abos’ getting off light one second, then proudly observes they’re a quarter of the prison population the next. Pretty strange definition of ‘getting off light’.

I know, its f&#king awesome being a white hetero male.

I couldn’t believe it on my 18th birthday, when the Grand Poobah of my local chapter of the Patriarchy came to my parents s***ty ex govvie welfare house and handed my the keys to a new BMW and a contract for a new job on $200k pa.

If it wasnt for that i’d probably be a career criminal. Lucky huh?

Didn’t we get 72 Victoria Secret virgins, too, Chewy? I can’t remember. All that free cocaine, caviar, methamphetamine and expensive booze Male Privilege Corporation gave us makes my memory fuzzy. Not to worry, I’ll ask one of my seven bikini-clad personal assistants to find out for us.

Yes, because anyone who disagrees substantially with you on a point of criminal justice is clearly an Australian version of a rabid 1930s anti-Semite, hellbent on racial genocide because they dare to contradict mighty you. And probably a neo-Stalinist Maoist capitalist sweatshop owner who beats child workers with eviscerated dead rats whilst listening to Justin Bieber and One Direction, too.

It seems Emma may identify as transgender or, at the the very least, lesbian. One of the comments on the Facebook profile talk about why she was referred to with a female “Ms.”

The only reason I point this out is because as soon as one is described as “Aboriginal”, “transgender”, “poor” or any other litany of adjectives, we start to see “mitigating circumstances” leading to even more pissweak than usual sentences. Some Australian data suggests indigenous Australians are treated lightly in a number of criminal categories (despite their higher representation in jails) and the US is full of statistical studies demonstrating men accused of crimes receive 63% higher sentences than women accused of the same thing (Sonja Starr, University of Michigan).

This is seriously the most amazing peice of shit I have ever read online in my life. Transgender people as criminals? I’m sure it happens, but I see transgender people on my bus now and then and they are the least criminal of the lot. I expect they don’t want to end up in jail. Also, without a doubt, the biggest criminal element are young teenage and adult white males. They are without a doubt responsible for more problems, abuse, assaults and threats on the bus and probably in society as well.
How about you back up your claim with some hard credible evidence? I mean currently there is a royal commission into sex abuse in the church, not one about sex abuse by transgenders or Aboriginals. Most preists in this country are white males.

Wow this is almost the most tenuous link I’ve ever seen, white males are priests who commit sex crimes so white people commit more crime than Aboriginals and other groups?

How about you take your advice and back your claims up with hard evidence? Particularly crime rates per head of population for different groups?

Excellent point, Chewy. The problem is, though, if you present some people with hard evidence or they find it themselves, they then go into a new game of “history explains it”. Each and every rape, assault, theft, burglary, child abuse and drink driving offence can be explained by the history of someone’s race, sexual orientation, gender, socio-economic status or high-functioning mental illness.

TheBusDriver read my disdain for lower SENTENCES given out to specific groups but deliberately and completely twisted it as if I was saying transgender people were somehow the most prolific criminals in society. Then came his rant against priests, youth and adult males.

The point is not just which group commits the most crime overall or proportionally, but what sentences are being handed out to members of different groups.

I wonder if the proportion of people convicted of crimes varies by demographic, though. For example, does the proportion of white males under age 40 who have been convicted of a crime exceed that for Aboriginal males under 40?

waiting for a comment on all those hyphenated surnames … or is that just me?

I thought about it, but the novelty of the double barrelled surname has worn off. I await the triple and quadruple surnames, when Mr Feral-Bogan has kids with Ms Skanky-Bitch, do they get called things like Jay-dun Izak Feral-Skanky-Bogan-Bitch?

You’re right, I do have an agenda. I’d like to see a society where crime is seen as crime, not a synonym of victimhood as many in the ACT political and judicial system would try and have us believe. The only segue here is trying to act as if criminal sentences and certain demographic leniencies are separate.

Bravo, well said sir!!

The point I am making refers to sentences being lower. Remember there are more men than priests and people who are transgender. Of course, besides indigenous Australians, I never said one group was more prone to criminal behaviour. Let’s focus on what I actually said: the judicial system makes far too many excuses for many people who aren’t white Anglo(-Saxon)-Celtic males. List to me the things I said about propensity to act criminally, rather than about excuses being made for individual members of certain groups who do commit crimes, leading to reduced sentences.

How about looking at the Sonja Starr research from the University of Michigan? Actually, that’s more directed at the other person who asked for evidence about sentences being lower. Higher courts (such as the Canadian example given below) have also found things like aboriginality, based on history of the people, not the individual, should be taken into account. And what exactly have I said that is so incorrect?

In my personal experience(not stating facts here because I do not have them on this matter), the biggest scum in canberra is bogan white trash.

I was so tempted to say source? 🙂 however that is pretty much a given considering white trash outnumber indigenious, transgenders etc by a huge margin. What is undeniable is that ABS figures showed that Indigenous people accounted for 25 percent of Australia’s prison population in 2009.
