Word reaches us that there’s been a suspicious death on Knox Street in Watson.

Large police presence in attendance.

More to come on this we imagine.

UPDATED: Apparently it’s the flats near the Antill end of Knox St, a middle aged man found dead in a large pool of blood near the bins.

@ fnnah: Touche.

@ ant: My mother’s maiden name was Groanworthy. I come from a long line of Groanworthys, originally from the Midlands, UK.

Isn’t a Litter to the Editor something you write to the NZ Herald?

Will the wheelie bins that have been wrongly accused be coming to Riot ACT and plastering badly spelt graffiti everywhere in retaliation against Johnboy’s claims?

I was going to say they prefer a Litter to the Editor, but I decided against it.

OK, Overheard! That’s groan-worthy. You are banished to the Offal Thread!

Meanwhile, I do hope the bins and their friends and relatives come and abuse us in mis-spelled mono-syllables. Highly entertaining.

Still waiting to hear about this ‘good source’, and who really had ‘the clue’

Look at all you lot posturing at each other. It’s like an episode of Dragonball Z. “Ha Ha, my source is better than your source, therefore I win and kick your butt. Ha Ha”

DJ was murdered – the AFP smiper shot him from the grassy knoll.

Not one of the AFPs highly trained and deadly smipers?

Knowing that it is stiring the pot a little, JB, just what were you told exactly?

Not easy to get a good sauce or source these days!

There’s something very sad and undignified about dying young and alone among a pile of wheelie bins in Knox St. I wonder if anyone is grieving him. I do hope that somebody cared.

People, this is what happens when uncaring sods put compact flouro light bulbs into rubbish bins – the mercury leachs out and kills innocent bystanders!

At least this is what my sauces have told me.

I don’t have a ‘source’

Hang on a sec. JB had it from a ‘good source’. A suspicious death in Watson.

Now the CT say the Police aren’t treating it as suspicious.

Someone doesn’t have a clue……who would that be?

Someone may need to re-assess the value of the word ‘good’ in ‘good source’

(Cue Twilight Zone Music)

Or maybe it’s another one of those AFP cover ups – just like the murder of DJ????

Why all the deaths in and around the Canberra area in the past few days? Is there a weather related factor? Mayhap an astrological explanation?

there has been a full moon. every time a full moon, the crazies come out in broad daylight, instead of at night.

You need to pay extra for humbuggery.
But no costumes or kissing.

The Canberra Times has the story, under the heading “Man’s body found”.

“Police discovered the body of a young man on Knox Street in Watson yesterday afternoon. The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage and a report is being prepared for the coroner”

That’s the whole story as published.

Sounds like a drug overdose.

speaking of useless crap

“More persons, on the whole, are humbugged by believing in nothing, than by believing too much”
P. T. Barnum

Not too sure that happened JB…. I asked who your source was then fished with the comment “Obviously if you know something and don’t tell the Police” – which in hindsight wasn’t actually fishing it was reality snapping at your heals.

I don’t know if ‘something’ happened or if you are making something up (unlikely I guess) but if it did and you know something about it and don’t tell the authorities AND it hinders them in any manner…

I’m loving how simultaneously I’m making things up AND hindering an investigation. That’s a hell of a trick.

Good source on this HB. Get back to me when you’ve got a clue eh?

Just one clue, just the one.

I would put a great big deal of money on the fact that your ‘source’ knows less than the person you infer has no clue.

Mmmm – news flash – people die!!! Sometimes not in their own home or in a hospital, who would have thought it possible? Seriously JB, this is big news why?

Here is a prediction – this death has resulted in one less scrote who spent much of adult life either taking drugs or doing crime to buy them. Just a guess my friends, just a guess….

Why all the deaths in and around the Canberra area in the past few days? Is there a weather related factor? Mayhap an astrological explanation?

And you people wonder why you get less and less real news in place of frippery and frolics.

Fair enough…Hope whoever is responsible comes to justice then.

No room in society for (among other things) murderers

I guess if it is something that will come out in time there is probablty a good reason it hasn’t hit the news yet…

Obviously if you know something and don’t tell the Police….

Almost certainly not Dan,

But we’ll just have to wait and see. And we don’t go revealing our sources.

could be suicide – the media choses to not report them eh ?

Who could that source be JB? Nothing in the media yet as far as I can see.

I was interested in this ACT Court case and was wondering what his defence will be? Nothing tasteful comes to mind…

“Death In Knox St”

Sounds like some bad B-movie. Then again, Canberra is similar to one I suppose.

I’m so amused that nothing has come about it in the news yet.

I reckon JB has telephathy.
Do you JB? Maybe you should go on that TV show that searches for missing people!

A large pool of blood doesn’t sound nice though.

Zoomed right in on the picture and no middle aged man’s body or large pool of blood.

Definitely a hoax……

Did you use Streetview?

As usual you add nothing to the debate HB, last warning before you go into moderation.

Mr Griffiths, for some strange reason that famous saying by P.T Barnum has just spung into my head…………

Zoomed right in on the picture and no middle aged man’s body or large pool of blood.

Definitely a hoax……

I knew the bins would strike back one day – I warned everyone, i swear i did!

Forgot to say, i left there at 4pm but no police were around, just the ambulance.

I just got back from Antill st, we saw a ambulance kinda parked on the kerb, with flashing lights on but (with a bus in front of me who later turned) by the time we were behind the ambulance at the roundabout there was no flashing lights on …… was very weird and kids were querying it.

Must have been self-defence.

Sorry, the bandwagons there, I gotta jump on it every now and again.

Just one clue, just the one.

Or maybe not, just wishing to be so (or whining on the RA) does not necessairly result in miracles JB.
