Deleting comments

I’ve started deleting comments that are offensively directed at other commenters without adding anything to the debate.

This is so far directed entirely at the user named “Wagga Wagga”.

If he decides to argue the toss then a lot of comments will be deleted but we can do that very easily, just expect some threads to sound a bit strange if others insist on responding to him before admins get around to deleting his bile.

I’m sorry it’s come to this.

JB ya mongrel. You (or your PFY) deleted my accounts about 3 times and I never made the front page. ;->

Fantastic! (It’s still Ok for us to tell w_w to F off isn’t it JB?)

You need to listen in to the podcast DanMan.

Is KandyA someone we groomed from the recent bout of unhappy posters from Melbourne Cup Day ?

I am sure you can out run a steeple chaser at the race course however Kandy.

sheesh your all so noice now

I only wished to cause offence, and certainly didnt take any.

I can only dream of being an unstable knife-wielding gourmet of unusual hours

I mightn’t be good – but at least I’m quick!

C’mon – with a name like Big Al – I bet you could “get it on with us 🙂

Get a room guys!

Likewise, Kandy. If you’ve taken offence at my comments, I apologise – they were purely intended in jest.

Do we need some kind of “sarcasm” font?

And no – I wasn’t a drug using chef. My poison was a beer and a ciggie after a shift.

You’re a champion Snarky! I was thinking just the other day (when W_W decided to start ‘contributing’ to the site) how great it would be to have a killfile feature for WP, Usenet-styleee.

*plonk*!
😉

As for the Ms Westin comment – I dunno how that fits in

KandyA – All in jest my friend – was just being a goose. Please accept my heartfelt apology.

Im pretty laid back and relaxed – Iso much so Im almost on my back and 6ft under.

Occasionally I have some value in my comments

Peace….

I have apparently been stabbed by one of your users, (I kinda thought that the death threats would come from suggesting that riotacters are largely responsible for the tragedy caused by the pathetic Ms westin,)

JB – perhaps you could just change wagga_wagga’s handle to wanker_wanker?

Auggh! Unclosed tag!Soryy – this should be
Johnboy, I posted this earlier, way down in the bowels of another thread. I find it useful – it might be helpful to others too. If you use Firefox to browse the-riotACT then you have access to a tool called Greasemonkey, obtainable here. Greasemonkey does many things, among them running a script called killfile, obtainable here. Killfile has been modified by its author to work with the-riotACT site. What it does is put a button “kill” next to a cmment author’s name. Click it and Firefox no longer shows their comments – at all, anywhere on the site – till you choose to let them back. It doesn’t alter the-riotACT, just what you see of it. From recent experience for far more informative reading. Enjoy!

yes it is sad that its come to this… but what a relief its going to be! Most of w_w’s posts don’t even make sense

and remember boys and girls, if you want free speech then get your own damn site

And I apologise for baiting him (especially after having said “don’t feed the trolls…”)

It is a shame that there is a need to resort to censorship but it’s your site, jb, so your rules.

I have to admit, I won’t be sorry to see those posts which attack “the player” and not the argument disappear.
