Demise of Belconnen Family Practice

I just called Belconnen Family Practice to make an appointment to see my doctor, only to be told he is deceased and the Practice no longer exists as of March 27… Now I have to find a new Doctor, as the practice which has taken all the patient files seems to have little interest in additional patients in their already busy schedule… (I’m male, 35 and of good reasonable health)

Anybody have a good Doctor recommendation (preferably one that is taking patients, is northside and is nice – like my former Doctor [RIP Dr H.])?

Ainslie Family Practice is good. They have a strong focus on the patients, such as finding new ways to do things to provide a better health service and not just trying to get as many people through as possible. And I was very recently informed they are putting on 2 new doctors.

…thanks all, & special thanks WMC – I love a link 😉

Seems that Dr Watson is taking on new patients, so have booked in to see him (I decided annual checkups where a good idea now I’m officially in my mid-thirties)… now, where’d I put those chocolates and chips?

I’d be amazed if Rod McIvor is taking on new patients – he is one of the dr’s from O’connor/Kaleen/Belco who moved to the new Belconnen Medical Centre – which is a horrible big barn of a place.

Dr Smee at Dickson seems to specialise in scripts for antibiotics and sick certificates.

I’d try Gungahlin – they seem to be taking on new patients, and yet quite good – a rarity in Canberra.

Dr Smee, Dickson Medical Practise, Bulk Bills.

Dr Rod McIver at Northside Family Medical Centre in Belconnen
