Demo Recording

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a place to go to get a decent demo recorded. Doesn’t have to be perfect, but good enough to show people our stuff.

We have been trying to contact Redsun without any luck, so if anyone can provide me with some details of other places here in Canberra, that would be great.

hey blewy – alternate option is find someone who is at woden tafe in their sound engineering course and get them to record you as a project.. or just contact the tafe itself.. they may let you use it for a small fee. apparently their facilities are pretty pro.. so I assume it would be pro-tools/digi software/hardware.. good mics etc.

I can personally recommend Infidel studios. My band just recorded our album using 2 studios, Drums and Bass recorded @ 301 studios in Sydney, and overdubs at Infidel. We are really, really happy with the results..

ArtSound FM has studios/equipment for hire.

In addition to that, I know from personal experience that Recording Techniques students at the school of music are often in need of a subject for an assignment. Some of them even do it for free.

Hey, Im at SAE in Byron Bay. I know its a long way to travel, but I could record a demo for free in an SSL XL9000K/’Tools HD equipped studio.

Infidel has analogue gear as well as all the digital trickery, also is owned/run by a great guy called Duncan. Many artist he has recorded are heard on JJJ.

2XX (as far as I’m aware) haven’t had funcitoning studio facilities since they moved to Civic.

Thank you for your help. I’ve heard of Infidel, i’ll give them a call. Thumper, if you could find a number for Tony that would be great.

2XX have a studio to record??? Awsome. I’ll give them a call too.

Band is doing pretty good. We actually played in the Pot Belly Battle of the Bands again under a different name “See no Evil”. We were really only going in it for a bit of fun, but end up coming second and made it through to the final on the 18th of November. It was crazy and very unexpected considering this time we didn’t bring a rent a crowd.

How’s your band crusing along Thumper? Any gigs lined up.
