This is a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. $800,000 could be spent much more productively.

Hmmmm … Carlton – one of the most successful AFL clubs – I don’t think so. They are one of the most successful VFL clubs, it’s been rather slim pickings for most Victorian clubs since the VFL became the AFL.

“..they used to get at least a third of the ground wearing blue and white.”

Not the games I went to and I’ve been to most.

Melbourne and Footscray will draw better crowds. But don’t expect big numbers of their supporters. They don’t have them.

At the pauperoos games there are more people in Collingwood and even (shudder)carlton clobber than norf gear.

And, in the “silver lining in every cloud” department – Collingwood’s loss to essendon last week at least ensured carlton will get another wooden spoon.

Yes I’m a Carlton supporter. I think most everyone (blood relatives) in my family are Carlton supporters.
An uncle of mine had a stroke not so long ago, he didn’t mind the stroke, didn’t mind the food thru a tube, didn’t mind the tests and rehab and wotnot. I headed down to Melb to see him in the hospital and the first words outa his mouth were “They stuck me in a bed next to a f*&king Collingwood supporter ….”

Thats in the next bed over. Not in the actual bed he was in. On here, it pays to clarify. ;->

Carlton should be in the top 5 within the next 3 seasons.

You’re not a Carlton supporter are you kaneo?

I am. Maybe I’ve assessed you too harshly, you smoker you 🙂

As for seeing a few new teams in Canberra, I reckon I’ll attend!

carlton might be having a bad run at the mo but they’re still up there with 16 premierships (albeit equal with the stinking bombers) as the (equally) most successful afl club. us diehard supporters stay with them through the lean times.

If it was Carlton I might get excited.
I am *dying* for a chance at another wooden spoon as the garbage gobbler ate the last one, and it needs replacing.

the facilities the roos had here, were far superior to their crappy arden st.

i read in one of the papers that the roo players did not want to transfer the 3 games to qld.

in other words – i don’t know anyone, here or elsewhere, who barracks for north melbourne.

which leads me to a more important conclusion that i absolutely mix with the right people.

how do you know that the ground won’t be filled to 100% capacity with blue and red or blue and red and white?!

just speaking from my own perspective here but melbourne is my second team and i know someone else who fully barracks for them – that’s 2 more people i know than the ones i know who liked the manky roos.

one extra pre-season game.

two regular games.

i’ll go, but its gonna be dull.

even though the roos had the politest cheer squad ive ever seen, they used to get at least a third of the ground wearing blue and white.

it better be good football.
