The developer of Denman Prospect has confirmed that the IGA supermarket known as The Farm at Denman Village Shops will close on Saturday to make way for a new operator.

Capital Airport Group says it has secured the services of a new, locally-based operator to manage the supermarket at Denman Village Shops, and it will temporarily close to restock.

There had been reports of supply issues and inadequate stock on the shelves for some time. The store opened in January this year.

Capital Airport Group says the temporary closure will not affect the trading hours of other operators in the centre.

It has also announced that Capital Chemist and Domino’s pizza will open at the shops in coming months.

Several hundred new residents are expected to move into the Molonglo Valley suburb by the end of the year.

Capital Airport Group says it is committed to having successful shops at Denman Prospect, including a vibrant supermarket.

“We also remain committed to early delivery of retail and community services to give our growing community what they need,” a spokesperson said.
