Can anyone recommend a good and gentle dentist, please? I’ve read the ones that were submitted in another query in 2011 and just wonder if there are any more recent dental recommendations. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Dr Scott Park at Preventive Dentist in Braddon.

An excellent clinician with caring, warm personality.

I have recommended him to everyone I know and care.

I strongly recommend him.

My whole family see Sonika in Queanbeyan. Highly recommended. Whoever we had recommended been really happy. There are many best dentist around in Canberra area.

Definitely recommend Dr Shilpa Kalburgi as the very best and the most gentle dentist I have known in my family and friend circles who is the Principal Dentist at Northside Family Dental

Thank you to all the very kind people who replied to my post – your help is very much appreciated.

Has anyone been to Dr Tang at Hobart Place Dental in Acton? Or perhaps Lasting Impressions or Canberra City Dentistry? I’m looking for someone good near to ANU that charges fair prices. Found these on Google but having had a few bad experiences would prefer to go to someone who is recommended! Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with any of these? Thanks!

I’m not the OP, but I am newish to Canberra. I will definitely check out Pacific Smiles, as a no-gap promotion is worth looking into. Thanks.

Liz Hurwood in Tuggeranong. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Liz Hurwood was my dentist from when I first grew teeth to when I finished university and got unceremoniously booted off my parents’ health insurance. She is fantastic, and my Dad and a couple of siblings still see her every 12 months.

I go to Pacific Smiles these days mostly because of the no gap promotions that they run. They always do a good job, but they’re no Liz!

My wife and I have had fillings, crowns even an extraction over many years – we have never felt any pain whatsoever. A small practice with up to date equipment & procedures. He has patients that drive from Sydney and from down the coast to see him!

Is he still there? When did you last have a consultation? I thought a Finance co had taken over the premises?

# 3 weeks ago Finance Co. took over the eye specialist next door.

I don’t know of any good dentists in Canberra. However, I would recommend, aside asking on riotact, asking friends and family. I would also recommend taking the recommendations that you get and reading any reviews that are available before you choose.

Dr Jeff McGrath in Woden.

Hi Mrs1948, my partner and I have been going to Pacific Smiles in Woden for a few years now. I’ve always been really happy with their work and approach to nervous patients with a low pain tolerance (me).

They also run a lot of no gap promotions for general check ups and cleans if you’re with certain health funds. We are with NIB and generally get a free visit once or twice a year.

+1 for Pacific Smiles @ Woden.

Saw Dr Sarita Atreya there only yesterday and was very impressed by both the service & her professionalism. Will be a repeat customer.

Went back to Pacific Smiles @ Woden On Saturday for a surgical extraction. These 2 visits to them were my 1st dental checkups in 20 years, so very nervous.

Once again, I found the dentist and staff very patient and professional. Seen by Dr Sanjiv Pathak would did a surgical extraction very professionally. Once again, very happy with both dentists I’ve seen there.

Yes, yes, I know. I’ll be going back for yearly checkups in future. Costs nothing through my health fund anyway.

Never thought I’d be recommending a dentist !
