Des Res in Duffy?

Jerry Atric 3 December 2010 15

CTimes has published a pic of flooding in Duffy overnight.

Now I understand why the lemmings rushed to buy overpriced real estate there after the fires.

For a million or so you too can have flood as well as fire and live a really long way from the CBD!

Buy in the most exciting suburb in Canberra! Thankyou Mr. Hooker/Blackshaw!

It’s only 20 minutes from the CBD……..if you drive at 250. Caroline.

The problem with Duffy is that you’re 15 minutes away from every part of Canberra, but not within ten minutes of any part of Canberra, if that makes sense.

Duffy isn’t within ten minutes of Woden? If you drive at or near the speed limit you’d do it in that easily, I think.

Well I can get from Duffy to Canberra College in around 10 minutes most mornings, and I don’t even remember the last time I went to Tuggeranong, there’s nothing there that I’ve felt the need to go there for rather than just going to Woden.

Isn’t that anywhere in Canberra?

It’s really not that far from places, better than living in tuggeranong.

Don’t know about that mate. We live in Wanni and are five minutes from Woden and five from Tuggeranong Hyperdome.

Right in the geographic centre of Canberra, yet backing parkland.

Sounds like sour grapes to me …

Except when Coppins Crossing is 2m underwater, haha.

And my shiny new house in Duffy didn’t flood.

Oh and the flood was dramatic – a full river running down Burrinjuck crescent near the school.
