destruction in garema ?

So I actually ventured out of the office at lunch time today, and saw quite a scene in Garema place.

Does anyone remember those concrete couches in the middle of garema court, with mosaic tiles all over them ?

Well, I walked past, and they were being ripped out.

Is this to make way for new furnishings, or new sculpture, or because someone was bored ?

I liked the concrete mosaic couches. They gave Garema a bit of character. Oh well…

Well, the workmen were there today, filling in the holes with pavers. I guess the aesthetics rubbed someone the wrong way.

They have also removed the living Christmas tree which was outside the entrance to David Jones in Petrie Plaza. The garden bed it was planted in was also covered in those little mosaic tiles. Maybe an OHS issue about the tiles? Who knows?!

I’m hoping for a see-saw. I miss those things.

Lord, nothing was so tacky and yechh as those concrete couches – even the copulating sheep were better yart. Perhaps sanity will prevail and they’ll plant trees ?
Nah, that’s too much to hope for, right ?

Could be an OH&S issue…plus the govt. has $1million over a couple of years to waste on new public art.

I might have something of use in the back shed…

Now what are the Saturday night God Squad preachers goint to stand on?
