GLBTIQ mag Same Same has the news that Dickson is getting a bagel cafe and gay bar.
Because this is 2013 after all.
Barcode is not just a place for people to come and party the night away – the venue will pull a double duty for daytime relaxing too. It’s a café by day and a lounge and bar at night.
This Friday night the bar welcomes you at 2/26 Challis Street in Dickson, and on Saturday Cafe Code Bagel + Juice Bar will open its doors and promises the best breakfast in town with the perfect hangover from an awesome party with bacon, eggs, French toast, almond croissants and much more.
…
After night falls, the new bar’s open seven days for various weekly events. Monday’s a Wine Bar, Tuesday’s Ladies Night, Wednesday there’s games including Trivia and Bingo, Thursday will be showcase live music, there’s clubbing with DJs and shows on Fridays and Saturdays, and Sunday is drag talent night.

You sure it isn’t a gay bar? Considering when you walk in it says “Welcome to the gay bar”
They advertise LGBT events;

So not really a gay bar, maybe a gay night club?
Performing maintenance work at the Meridian Club certainly widened this olde farte’s education. 🙂

More importantly, why would people travel from the gay bar to a dirty public toilet for “anonymous bumming” when they could just stay at the gay bar and get bummed there?

Source?
OR
Why are you spending so much time in public toilets?
Grimm said :
*sigh* whateverdude

Or they could leave the gates open and install parking meters and a bar (both charging airport prices) – could be a nice little earner for our cash-strapped Government.
Grimm said :
So tell me, where are you going with whining about public toilets within a kilometer radius of a gay bar and then using one not within cooee of a gay bar as an example? What point are you trying to prove?
Anonymous Bumming on Broke Black Mountain. Hehe
Perverts have apparently gone there for anonymous bumming for years and years.
Wasn’t Anonymous Bumming a character in “Little Dorrit.”

Because it’s a public facility?
People may want to use it for it’s intended purpose.
Using public toilets for sex is revolting and inconsiderate.
But hey, don’t let the fact that the term “beat” came about because this kind of behavior is common get in the way.
LOL JB. That was the exact song that came to mind when I read the short text OP decription. Great minds think alike.

Hyuk hyuk.
Didn’t see some genius trotting that one out at all.
It’s called common knowledge. Perverts have apparently gone there for anonymous bumming for years and years.
Pretty sure Black Mountain hasn’t been a beat since they started closing the gates some years ago.
But even if it were how is this hurting you?
Grimm said :
So I take it you frequent the public toilets at black mountain during the dark hours often in order to confirm this stereotype, given all the gay bars in close proximity.
johnboy said :
Yeah, and it doesn’t happen at all. I’m making it up and there’s no truth behind the stereotype….
The public toilets at black mountain peninsula during the dark hours are a testament to this.

Sadly the only protection is to unplug your interwebs.
Until we get a license to use the Internet it’s just going to keep filling with morons and biggots and pos moron bigots.

Pfft. The AIDS isn’t even all that scary any more what with all the drugs and stuff.
The real risk is getting internetcanceraids from reading posts by ‘tards on the internet. What prophylactic can I wear to protect me from that?

So the plan, then, is to try and get a gay bar within a kilometre of every public toilet so we can keep the homophobes pissing in their pants far into the future.
Well this is nice given that Cube really hasn’t been a gay bar for a few years, if indeed it ever was. Generally it’s just where people have in mind when they say, “let’s go to Civic!” or, “What is still open?”
I can just picture Mr G and Grimm walking hand in hand carrying matching plastic bags, how quaint 🙂
