Did anyone else notice WIN news has a new look

It appears the WIN Network has a new look for their TV news broadcasts and website. The change appears to have been made on the Nine Network and filtered down to the regional networks such as WIN.

Whilst WIN news may not be the most rivetting of news (and you get the feeling that they are scratching for news at times picking up and using what would be otherwise ‘national’ stories) – full credit has to go to WIN for the 30 minute weekday effort.

The new look website can be seen here. Whilst it appears they have spared no expense and had the new site designed by a high school student on work experience over the summer holiday they do at least have an RSS feed for the news headlines.

Seems like Channel 9 has come of age. They’ve dropped their balls.

The new bug mark is incredibly annoying.

Maybe I should apply for the webmaster job…

From the TV Guide section on their web site:

Error: SELECT show_id, show_time FROM winnet_shows WHERE show_reg = AND show_time

A tip for their work-experience webmaster - set the display_errors directive in php.ini to true on your production server. Nothing like inviting an SQL injection attack.

every channel has it nowadays
its just an incentive to change channels or watch dvds

On the plus side WIN are now just putting i tiny “win” above or below the 9 logo for news and sport, which is mich better than the past monstrosity. That being said if you compare WIN news with 9 news right after it WIN has managed to turn a reasonably attractive graphics package into a bit of a mess. Just look at win weather, most of it is in the old style, some in the new and the map of a australia is off to one side leaving space for the weather man, but Tony Linus is nowhere to be seen.

I don’t usually watch the cricket, but with all the impending court cases with the water mark being burned on to people’s plasmas, is that still there?

Channel 9 as a whole has had a makeover, complete new logo.

Crikey had a story about this yesterday.
