Picnic tables missing

Alright, who stole the picnic tables? Fess up.

The ACT Government is looking for info or witnesses in regards to the theft of picnic equipment at Orroral Campground earlier this week.

“Two water tanks and the tops and seats of three tables were stolen from the popular recreational facility at Orroral Campground between Tuesday and Thursday this week,” Manager, Regional Operations, ACT Parks and Conservation Service, Brett McNamara said today.

“It’s disappointing to be confronted with yet another act of blatant destruction to the public facilities the ACT Government provides for our reserves.

“I urge anyone with information on this theft to report it to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or call Canberra Connect on 13 22 81.”

The Orroral Campground is a popular recreational facility set on the banks of the Orroral River in the Namadgi National Park, approximately 45 minutes outside of Canberra.

Apparently replacing the facilities will cost about $5000, which is a lot.

Hopefully at some point soon someone will wake up from a massive hangover, notice his lounge-room is full of some picnic tables and water tanks, then return them apologetically.

That would be nice.

Haha or someone has just acquired an outdoor barbie setting complete with water tanks possibly at a nearby property ?

Wow, that’s almost as bad as the morons who tore all of the wood off of that shelter there some Christmases back. I’d lie to catch the louts that did that.

this is why we can’t have nice things :/

it just goes to show that scum will steal anything not nailed down…wait, they were nailed down! they are a wily bunch

if the dinosaur offensive is anything to go by, check the living rooms of every bogan celebrating a birthday soon

also love the “between tuesday and thursday” timeframe…specific – no wonder people can steal and get away with it if the facilities are being monitored so infrequently

Just at a guess, ranger(s) can’t get out everyday or have a rotation of ones they visit each day or so…??

#headdesk

that was my point that they /need/ to monitor them more frequently if there is so much vandalism occurring to facilities provided by the ACT government

didn’t think i needed to spell that out quite so much but anyway

Fashion new tops out of titty-carp basket if they’re so worried about cost.
