The only good thing to come out of this rotten incident is the re-appearance of the wonderful Daryl Neit on our airwaves again.

Daryl Neit should be famous in a serious way. I heard him speak at a conference once and he managed to both horrify and amuse a room for at least an hour. People still talk about his presentation.

The only good thing to come out of this rotten incident is the re-appearance of the wonderful Daryl Neit on our airwaves again. They can’t keep a good Neit down.

While we’re at it, the roundabout on Athllon Drive at Atkins St (nr the Wanniassa shops) is one that could be better designed IMO because it allows traffic coming from the elevated northern arm of Atkins to zoom through without slowing.

My mistake, this happened on the Fincham/Wheeler roundabout. I lived on Forlonge/Wheeler roundabout. Both roundabouts have the same problems as they are both on the same stretch of round and are as bad as each other though. The hoons often burn out on both roundabouts within minutes of each other

I lived in the house on that roundabout for five years until I sold it earlier this year.

I’ve been telling people and the police for years that roundabout was an accident waiting to happen. One major reasons I moved is that roundabout is used as burnout circle and also a chicane for extremely fast street racing. Not saying this happened in this instance, but it was a matter of time in my mind.

I filmed and recorded and assisted police with two convictions of rev-heads doing burn outs on that roundabout. One I recorded showed the guy lose control and swing out in the path of another car. The police were extremely thankful I caught it on film as it made their conviction so much easier.

However, nothing is actually done about the road there. I got sick of the endless burnouts at 2-3am so I just moved. I urge the Government to rip out that roundabout, or at the very least put some traffic calming measures into that road. Wheeler crescent is a race track for hoons. has been for the five years I was living there, and I’m sure it will continue to be
