Dirty Fuel @ Cooleman Court Petrol Station?

My car has been bunny hopping recently almost as if no fuel is getting pumped into the engine.

Upon talking to friends about this issue….they asked “where do you get petrol from?”

“Cooleman Court in Weston Creek” I replied.

“Don’t go there they use dirty fuel, friends of friends and other people they know have had to buy new fuel punps, bleed there engines because of the dirty fuel and in some cases, have had to replace all fuel injectors”

A costly and time consuming process for motorists, and a total malpractice to consumers.

If anyone else has had issues with this and can narrow it down to cooleman court, please reply to this post and we can build more evidence for this case to be put forward for further investigation.

Sounds pretty far fetched. Fuel filters are in all cars. Dirty fuel doesn’t clog injectors. Fuel pumps aren’t affected by dirty fuel.

The good old “friends of friends” sound like they’ve got absolutely no knowledge of mechanical devices.

Putting ethanol additive fuel in some cars (and there’s a list of them available if you google) can cause some interesting issues with fuel system rubber based synthetic piping dissolving. That does clog things.

Your a fool jchamp. Those guys get 2500 customers a day. Do you really think they would still be in business in ther served dirty fuel? No, they would be crucified. Also did you make a complaint to the servo before you jumped on the net. No you didnt did you.
If I was you I would be changing your mechanic or who ever told you you bought bad fuel.

I always fill up at the Cooleman Court servo and never had an issue. I do use the 95 fuel though and not regular unleaded.

Both I and the housemate fill up there regularly. With both the 98 and the regular. Neither of us have had an issue.

I use them regularly and I’ve never had any problem with the fuel.

I’ve fillled up a couple of times, no problems.

Your fuel filter should pick up most of the polluting particulate matter. I would be getting a bottle of fuel system cleaner, fill it up with 98 octane premium and taking it for a robust drive of 100 km or so.

This is the Caltex right?

I live on Northside so don’t use them often, but I have filled up there a couple of times in the last 6 months (Vortex98) and had no dramas.

The petrol there is sourced from Caltex and would be the same stuff as all other Caltex stations, it’s very unlikely to be dirty.

However, if you really thought it might be, wouldn’t it be sensible to see if there’s a difference by sourcing your petrol from another location rather than just throwing it out there?

dirty fuel is muck/debris that has solidified at the base of the tank. When the tanker fills up the tanks, the debris is unsettled and is then pumped out by the consumer. Dirty fuel can also occur if the wrong product is put into the wrong tank (which is difficult now that its all colour coded), OR they’ve swapped products in the tanks without cleaning properly OR somehow water has got into the tank.

What constitutes dirty fuel?? I would have thought if it was dirty, then the filter would remove the contaminants. As for buggering up injectors and fuel pumps?Could it be old and stale fuel that is turning into varnish? Do you know what sort of fuel is being complained of? eg 91 95 or premium.

I’ve been using them since the BP in Waramanga closed up their pumps – and that would be around the time the scooter started to run a bit rough (lucky is only carby based). Will switch servos and see what happens.
