Territory And Municipal Services are putting the word out that the Yarralumla nursery is selling some natives at a 20% discount for Australia Day:
“Canberra has always been known as the bush capital because of our abundance of native flora and fauna. With Australia Day almost upon us we encourage people to get out into their gardens and plant some native species, which are all 20% off from Wednesday until Sunday,” Ms Ryan said.
“Our top five recommendations for Australia Day include a variety of Grevilleas, the Callistemon Pink Champagne and the Eucalyptus Euky Dwarf.
“Our Grevilleas are very popular at the moment. We recommend the Grevillea GinGin Gem, Grevillea Fireworks and the Grevillea Winparra Gem. These attractive, hardy shrubs are grown here at Yarralumla Nursery so they are perfect for the ACT’s drought and frost conditions.
“Yarralumla Nursery’s Callistemon Pink champagne is a lovely bushy shrub that produces a mass of pink flowers and makes a great screen or hedge. Our Eucalyptus Euky Dwarf is a shapely native tree and is offset by a mass of pink, red or cream blossom from late autumn to early summer. The Euky Dwarf is great for small gardens and landscapes particularly when planted in groups to create a bushland effect,” Ms Ryan said.
Yarralumla Nursery Garden Centre is located on Banks Street, Yarralumla and is open seven days a week. The Nursery is open on Australia Day between 10am-3pm.
