ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old Isaacs man after he fled from a roadside police breath testing station early this morning (22 January).

Around 3.10am police were conducting breath tests on Drakeford Drive in Isabella Plains. The driver of the silver Holden Monaro conducted a U-turn in front of police and drove away.

Police followed the driver, activating their warning lights and sirens. The driver failed to stop, instigating a pursuit.

The pursuit lasted approximately three minutes. The driver crossed a median strip and mounted a gutter, causing the deflation of a tyre.

The man, who was found to be a disqualified driver, was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House. He will front the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, where he will face several charges.

Any witnesses to the pursuit are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Another dead Monaro….what a great day for the rest of Canberra’s classic cars!

Well, just because he thought a Monaro was a ute doesn’t mean that the solar cells won’t kick in sometime…

I really would like to see some IQ test results for the people who get into this sort of action. To me, his combined actions (driving disqualified, U-turn in front of cops, high speed chase, loss of control) appear to be monumentally, profoundly stupid. Incredibly stupid, in that it simply doesn’t seem credible that someone could demonstrate such a lack of intellectual capability and still able to function in our society.

I’d hazard a guess that the guy is well outside the first standard deviation on the low side. How could someone that dim have the wherewithal to obtain a licence, let alone a flash vehicle?

Questions, questions…

A modern Monaro or classic one? Either way, where are 21 year-olds getting the money from??? Like the 24yo public servant pictured in today’s CT swimming in the fancy pool at her apartment complex in Kingston. I don’t think a 24yo public servant’s salary would pay the rent or mortgage on such a place.

Socialist? Moi? Well, yes actually.

It’s almost Australia Day johnboy, you should know that a Monaro is not a ute.

Hang your head in shame, not knowing that is unaustralian.

Well, it could be
