ACT Policing arrested and charged a 62-year-old Hughes man late last night (November 20) after he was caught driving while disqualified in Narrabundah.

Around 10.30pm police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Falcon utility on Jerrabomberra Avenue in Narrabundah for the purpose of a random breath test.

Police conducted a number of licence checks on the driver which indicated that the man was disqualified from driving until 2070. While the man was in police custody, officers found a quantity of cannabis in his possession.

The man was arrested and taken to the ACT Watch House and charged with a number of traffic offences and possession of cannabis. He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court later this morning.

Does anyone know who this guy is?! Reward for someone who can help! n_squarey@hotmail.com 🙂

What I’d like to know is how are they going to enforce his ban on driving? He obviously does not care about fines.

…it is only a matter of time before he wrapped his car around a light pole or worse around an oncoming car.

… or hit-and-run on a cyclist. This guy is a time bomb. Some legislation to impound and destroy the vehicles of repeat offenders would be perfect.

Perhaps a name and shame? or we could just cut off his hands so he can’t put the key into the ignition

Cutting off his hands might help with his drinking problem too, though I wouldn’t put it past him to stick a straw into his beer bottle.

🙂 Lawyer ? For a handsome fee you’ll get him off on technicalities? Joking.
This man gets picked up on the same road as before.

Tell him next time he is caught his car will go into the car compactor with him in it? Let’s face it if he has done something so bad to get disqualified for driving for the next 59 years it is only a matter of time before he wrapped his car around a light pole or worse around an oncoming car.

Think of it as a pre-emptive traffic accident…

Magistrate Grant Lalor said Butler was in breach of his bail conditions and was likely to be sentenced to a significant term of imprisonment if he was found guilty.

The court heard Butler was also due to face court today.

Mr Lalor refused bail and remanded the man in custody overnight.

So there you go. It looks like by the 24th time you’ve been done for drink driving, you may end up jailed. At least he wasn’t bailed this time…

Tch. You guys. We should be grateful. Every time he gets pinged he swells the ACT’s coffers by another $50!

Yep , same guy. His car needs to be confiscated.

And destroyed……..

“He will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court later this morning.” Why? What’s the point? Hope the next time he drives drugged up or drunk he doesn’t hurt anyone but he probably will, THEN they’ll do something about it.

Damn p-platers.

Should we run a pool on how many times he gets picked up before Christmas?

Yep , same guy. His car needs to be confiscated.

one assumes this is the same 62yo Hughes man from Nov 8 2011…

Should we run a pool on how many times he gets picked up before Christmas?

Wonder if its the same one they caught a week or two back? Sounds familiar
