Concert for Charity

Four bands – Scaramouche, Big Score, Astrochem and The Astronauts – will be playing a fundraising concert at the Woden Youth Centre on Friday 4 December, starting at 6:15pm. Tickets are $10 at the door.

All funds raised will go to Co-Operation in Development, a charity which builds schools in the poorest of the poor areas of Bangladesh.

Chrome will be taking a break in January 2010 and will be back in Feburary next year. So take this chance to fill up your tanks with all the Chrome-based-goodness you can before the 1 month hiatus!

Sunday: Grab a friend and your bike for the Urban Polaris – a unique seven hour mountain biking and navigation event set in and around Canberra. It also has a new little brother, the Metro – 4 hours.

Checkpoints are in interesting places often include fun events for the competitors to be involved in.

Lighting of the Christmas Tree

Civic Square will come alive with the official Lighting of the Canberra Christmas Tree on Friday 4 December.

Joining us in 2009 is the talented Monica Trapaga, best known as a presenter on ABC’s Play School, who will perform a special Christmas Show. Michael Martin, Canberra born Australian tenor will also be a highlight of the program this year and we hope to have a special visit from Santa Claus himself!

Enjoy late night shopping in the City, and then come down with a picnic with your family and friends and enjoy the start of the Festive season in our national capital.
