Don’t forget Floriade starts this weekend. Best to get in early and get your piccies. No doubt we’ll see a few here. Don’t forget last year when it was cold, overcast and rainy for the whole event except for the first weekend. This will also be the last opportunity to see the famous zebras before they are locked up behind the walls of a private horseriding school.

Monster of the Deep1:00 pm 09 Sep 10

Soulfly at the ANU Bar – Saturday 11 September, 7.30 pm.
Tickets available from Ticketek (over 18s only).

If you favour metal in its most primal form, then prepare yourself, because this line-up is what you’ve been waiting for. Soulfly will team up with City of Fire and Incite for a triple International tour of the nation.

Most bands slow down with age – not Soulfly. More than 10 years since their self-titled debut album became a genre classic (and achieved Gold sales), they’re back, and they’re bringing their brutal heavy metal assault to the masses, showcasing their seventh album, Omen. Led by former Sepultura frontman, Max Cavalera, Soulfly have become an even fiercer, fierier and more furious metallic monster.

Well known for their collaborations with up and coming talent, Soulfly will share top billing with Vancouver five piece, City of Fire, featuring members from Fear Factory and Strapping Young Lad – Burton C Bell, Byron Stroud and Jed Simon.

Still can’t believe they’re coming to Canberra! Should be an awesome gig.

AFL Canberra Div 3 and Div 4 Grand Final and AFL Canberra NAB Women’s Grand Final this Sunday at Manuka.

Get down and support local footy. Should be a cracking day!

9:30am AFL Canberra NAB Women’s Grand Final
Tuggeranong Hawks V Ainslie

12:00pm AFL Canberra Div 4 Grand Final
Goulburn City Swans V ANU

2:30pm AFL Canberra Div 3 Grand Final

since they took our toys away last year….
