Any of you who happen to be in Auckland this weekend, Canberra band the CYM Wind Symphony is performing int he band festival there…

If you want to get down and dirty this weekend, CORC are running the 3rd Stromlo trail building working bee on Saturday and Sunday. About 6 Km of gorgeous trails have already been built over the previous two weekends. Lunch and snacks will be provided by CORC for all volunteers. For more details click here.

We bring you a ROCK EXTRAVAGANZA!!! 5 bands rockin’ it up for your listening pleasure.
Black Guns (Melb), Australian Kingswood Factory, Black Friday, Vision and Love Skulls.
Doors will open around 8.15pm, over 18s, $10 at the door. What a bargain! What a line-up!

In canberra theatres this week:

Last chance to catch Wolf Lullaby at the Street Studio – disturbing, dark, insightful theatre – tonight, tomorrow, and two performances saturday. $25 regular tickets, $20 concessions, $15 for the matinee on Saturday.

Don’s Party rocks on for another week at Canberra Rep (it’s funny, it’s smart, and hey, I’m in it) – Tonight, tomorrow night and two performances saturday – tickets are $32 regular, $24 concession, $20 for the saturday matinee – continues until the 26th.

And there’s more Wuthering Heights at the Canberra Theatre Courtyard studio – ’tis Gothic, ’tis intense, ’tis Bronte Sisters – tonight, tomorrow night, two performances Saturday and one on Sunday. Tickets are $25, $20 concession, $18 for the matinee and Sunday performances.

Friday night the ANU Film Group have the 40th anniversary “top 5” event night, showing filmic moments like the top 5 car chases, kisses, double entendres and more. Finishes off with a mystery screening of the favourite film voted by members, and a second very special related film following.

Kicks off at 7:30pm, at the Coombs Theatre (corner of Garran Rd and Fellows Rd).
