‘Refugee Realties’, Stage 88, Commonwealth Park, runs til 20 June.

This is an Oxfam event: “a combined exhibition and simulation exercise that allows people to walk in the shoes of a refugee, and experience the realities of a refugee’s journey…The simulation concludes with a debrief and discussion about what participants learnt, and what all Australians can do to support refugee and universal human rights, both at home and around the world.”

It’s a holiday weekend, so be sure to tune into WIN News on Monday night to see what spectacular technical problems and bloopers they can come up with. The last long weekend (Anzac Day) has already passed into Canberra folklore and has been immortalised on YouTube. Let’s see whether they can top it this time. It’ll be a hard task, but knowing the amateurish, hillbilly outfit WIN is, I’m sure they won’t let us down.
