Yeah, Kerces, Insomnia has been long gone… Now its called Meshe or something.

The Merry Muse Folk Club been going for 17 years making it one of Canberra’s longest standing gigs, as well as, subjectively speaking, one of the best. To celebrate, they’re not really doing anything special, just the normal weekly fare of bands, sausages and beer, but the anniversary thing might make for a good showing, audience-wise, and the music is going to be fabulous.

Doors and bistro open at 6.00 PM, music starts with walk-ons at 7.00 PM, concert proper at 8.00 PM with the Cashews, followed by Sanji de Silva, then Caution Horses.

Um, well, yes. Unless Corvo’s has reopened somewhere else Mr S is going to be finding it hard to locate, very hard to find indeed.

Otherwise, well, it’s musicals, musicals, musicals around town at the moment:
– The Fantastiks continues at Belconnen Community Centre
– Tarantara! Tarantara! (a short history of Gilbert and Sullivan) kicks off at the Southern Cross Club.
– The Sound of Music (a.k.a. Nuns and Nazis) starts in Queenbeyan at the Queenbeyan Bicentenial centre.

Supa Productions is going The FULL MONTY at the Street Theatre, but as of last night there are only a few tickets left for tonight’s performance and selling fast for the Saturday matinee. Friday and Saturday night performances are SOLD OUT.

Must say I’m unconvinced by these listings, I’m not sure how often they update them.

I did hear FMs has shut down recently, yet they’re still appearing and someone said some months ago that Corvo’s was actually Muddle Bar now. And Can their DJ really be from the UK if he performs there every week?

for a change nothing!! yay… not going out to play with or see bands… which is going to be the first time in ages… unless of course anyone can convince me hereafter..
