Once the information sessions are completed members will get an opportunity to vote on the proposed bargaining claim through an online poll in the last week of October.

Special music event at the National Gallery of Australia – Origins, Voyage, Cosmos by Synergy Percussion

A special performance and after-hours viewing of the exhibition of Life, Death and Magic: 2,000 years of Southeast Asian ancestral art.

This haunting program of new and ancient sounds is a response to the themes of the exhibition. Synergy play instruments of wood, stone, metal and skin and their music is by turns sombre, rhythmic, melodic and ethereal.

AIATSIS Seminar Series – Text and Texture

The current AIATSIS Seminar Series invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writers and researchers to discuss their works and consider broader ranging questions such as: Who is reading Indigenous literature? Where do authors themselves want to see Indigenous literature in the future and how would they like their texts to be read? How do authors work within the confines of Western genres and literary devices to tell an Indigenous story and centre an Indigenous standpoint?

Reclaim the Night

Reclaim the Night is a chance for women to walk in solidarity and demand the right to live without the fear and reality of rape and male violence.

Reclaim the night recognises the valuable contribution that men can make in championing this cause. Men can show their support by participating in the march from the back. Marching from the back is important because it shows men’s support while providing women with the space to unite together and exercise their right to move freely without protection from men.
