Monster Trucks are going to eat Canberra this Saturday night at the ACT Greyhound Track, but besides this fantastical extravaganza of Monsterness what else are people up to this weekend?

Lets us know in the comments.

PS. If anyone goes to the Monster Trucks we’d love to see some photos.

The Majura Festival is back in Woolley St Dickson THIS FRIDAY night and SATURDAY. Friday night is going to be full of great music, as local bands battle it out on the street stage. Saturday is a full day for the whole family. There will be Belly Dancing, dramatic Martial arts displays, ice scuplturing, jazz music, circus acts, Kenny Koala, food, fun and a very funny clown. These events should not be missed so come down and have some fun in Woolley St.

The American Car Club of Australia Inc. is holding the American Car Nationals 2007. This year, the main event will be held on Sunday, 23 September 2007, at the Queanbeyan Show Ground NSW.

Held at the same venue, will be the Queanbeyan Swap Meet, which is on all weekend. So, why not have a clean up in your garage, have a Swap site on Saturday and stay for the ‘Nationals’ on Sunday.

On Saturday afternoon the 22 September, festivities will begin with a short street cruise at 4.00PM. At 6.30 PM the Mayor of Queanbeyan will host a Civic Reception for ‘Nationals’ Entrants, Sponsors, Judges and their partners, at the Queanbeyan Council Chambers.

Sunday September 23rd will be the ANU Spring Criterium, held on the grounds of the beautiful greening grounds of the ANU campus. So celebrate the beginning of Spring with us on the most exciting criterium circuit in Canberra! Wipe off the the chain, dig up the summer jerseys, put on your sunnies and test your form in the lead up to the Summer season.

Like last year there is a Come’n’Try day starting at 10am which costs $3 for non-licenced riders. This will involve a half hour bunch skills and cornering session then a chance to have a race around the criterium course.

Well, I’m sure all they’ll do is sing Imagine at you very loudly.

I actually don’t know much about it – I know the Qwire’s rehearsing for it, but I’m not wandering with ’em. Just thought I’d send a few of the grumpier Riotacters out their way – possibly to calm people down. Or to get someone thumped by a lesbian – either works for me!

There’s a big honking peace-march with various choirs going through Civic tomorrow evening – I know the gay and lesbian Qwire are included, so, if you want to personally debate your opinions on lesbian parenting with them, I’m sure they’d be up for it…
