OK, so there are things to do this weekend and people who want to do them.

Why not put something in the comments of this story if you think you can add to the process?

Should be kick ass.

Come to Canberra Stadium for the Raiders vs. Storm game, Saturday 5:30pm.
Heeyoooge crowd expected and will be awesome!

ADFA open day – best free family day out in Canberra, asw they used to say. Although I haven’t heard talk of any Roulettes or Flyovers this year, but there are bound to be the usual flight simulators, overwater obstacle course, abseiling etc.
Also ARt School open day – cheap art and sausage sizzle, watch glass blowing and what not.

Simto – I see you received a pretty favorable write-up from ‘The Canberra Review’, both the show in general, and yourself. Good work bud!

Stozza sent in the following as a story, which I’ve moved here:

Hey Hey Canberran music lovers. Just a heads up to remind you all that Triple J favourite Josh Pike will be gracing the stage at the UC bar this Sunday (27 August), along with local bluesy pop rockers OneWayFare, Brendan Welch and Melanie Horsnell. This all ages gig, so bring the whole family (‘cause you know that your grandparents would have a blast!). Tickets are rumoured to be $12 (concession)/$15 (full) + booking fee.

Doors open at 4.00pm, with locals One Way Fare hitting the stage just after 5 and the gig wrapping up just in time for a late dinner.

You can pick up your tix down at Landspeed, your nearest Ticketek agent or at the door.

If you haven’t yet heard Josh’s music get out from under your rock and drop into his website at http://www.joshpyke.com. His single ‘Middle of the Hill’ tore its way up last years Triple J Hottest 100 to clock in at number 19, and his last gig in town with Bob Evans saw him entertain an enthusiastic 500 strong crowd.

OneWayFare are relative newcomers on the local scene. They took out first place at last years Pot Belly Battle of the Bands in an electric debut performance. They have since emerged onto the stage to warm receptions, supporting the Fyreflyes (syd) and Roger Explosion (syd) as well as kickin’ it around the usual local haunts. After a number of line up shuffles and some serious song reworking the band is now in the process of recording an EP – expect to hear a lot more of them in the future! You can hear an old line up of the band performing older versions of their tracks on Insatiable Banalities podcast #37 – http://www.loadedog.com/pod/pod.shtml

I’ll plug my thing, then…

Don’s Party finishes off its run this week – performances tonight, Friday and Saturday evenings only at Theatre 3, Acton. Yes, I’m in it, wearing one shocker of a hawaiian shirt and sporting a pretty mean set of sideburns.
