Wotz On – Celluloid Edition

ANU Film Group – tonight, it’s the Canberra premiere of the Western APPALOOSA, starring Renee Zellweger, Jeremy Irons, Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen. Saturday night, see Kate Winslet in her Oscar-winning role in THE READER. Both movies start at 8pm sharp, doors open at 7.15pm, membership available at the door from $15, see for more details.

Arc – tonight 7.30pm it’s Melissa Leo in her Oscar-nominated role in FROZEN RIVER. Saturday afternoon 4.30pm, the Harold Pinter tribute season kicks off with THE SERVANT, and in the evening, there’s a screening of short films from the eighties about the music of the time, featuring The Models, The Swingers and Peter Garrett, with POP MOVIES.

Big House Film Society – the second instalment of the “trilogy over three years”, THE GODFATHER PART 2 (arguably the best of the three) screens at Canberra Museum and Gallery, 1pm, Sunday. Membership available at the door.
