It’s been a short week and here we are again on Thursday.

On Sunday morning a human sign saying “Clean energy for eternity” will be formed at Reconciliation Place. Anyone interested should turn up at about 10.30 and a helicopter will take pics at 12. Marginally more details here.

“Camelot” kicks off across the border . Nope, they probably won’t be meeting the knights who say “Ni”, but there will be routines and chorus scenes with footwork impecable. Performances tonight and tomorrow night at 8pm , plus two matinees tomorrow and Sunday at 2pm, at the Quenbeyan Convention centre. Book through Canberra Ticketing – continues next week.

Also the School for Scandal continues its gossipy way at Canberra Rep – performanes tonight and saturday at 8pm, plus a matinee tomorrow at 2pm and a twilight performance at 5pm on Sunday. Continues until Saturday 14th.

Not quite the weekend but on Monday evening the SNOWYfest International Film Festival Thredbo will be having a BEST OF SNOWYFEST 2006 screening at Electric Shadows. Kick off 6.30pm

See http://www.electricshadows.com.au for details

Crave – who are progressive metal – similar to tool or muse,

Spoil – straight up old school metal – think pantera but with more groove,

Variodivers – who are catchy electro/pop/rock – Similar to Regurgitator,

Little smoke – kind of tribal progressive

Dubba Rukki – who I think are funk but am not 100% sure..

The first three bands have my preference of winning but I don’t really care and the $15K prize is a formidable.

What styles are representing? Can’t see a list of contenders on Justbands.

jamming for justice is where I will probably be.

Who is gigging on Friday and Saturday nights? Jamming for Justice is at the ANU bar Saturday but I don’t hink it is my scene.

Clean, boring, safe, boring.

Dirty blues riff laden energy I say!

There is aledgedly a protest this Sunday about clean energy, god damn clean energy when will people learn….

Miguel Sanchez will be making an appearence at the Pot Belly battle of the bands at 10pm on Saturday evening 😉 Anyone know who else is playing?
