The silly season has started in most work places so if you don’t have invites to at least 3 different boozy functions then your just not trying hard enough. But besides hanging around your office drinking bad white wine or VB and talking to people you talk to every day what else are you going to be doing over the weekend

Brindabella Challenge Criteriums
Saturday 8 December 2007 – Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Circuit
4pm – 9pm

Try out the Stromlo Forest Park’s purpose built criterium circuit with criterium racing for all grades and categories available, including a women-only race.

For the first time, races later in the evening will be held under lights. The event is open to all Cycling Australia riders. Day licences for others are available for $18. Cash prizes and jerseys across a range of categories are on offer. Entry is $10.

Brindabella Challenge Handicap
Sunday 9 December – Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Circuit

Challenge yourself by riding into the Brindabella Ranges in the Brindabella Challenge Handicap race covering all standards.

The course will take in parts of the famous Cotter loop. Separate men’s and women’s results prizes and jerseys are on offer.

The event is open to all Cycling Australia riders. Day licences for others are available for $18. Entry is $40.

– An Ideal Husband comes to an end at Canberra Rep – Oscar Wilde, so it’s witty, clever, and stylish – Tonight, tomorrow night and Saturday night at 8pm at Theatre 3, call canberra reperatory on 6257 1950 for bookings.

– Paris Hat’s double bill of Sexual Perversity in Chicago and Closer also end – tonight, tomorrow night in the Street Theatre 2 – call the street on 6247 1223 for bookings.

The Spectrum Big Band Summer Swing Ball is on Friday night, 7:30pm at the Canberra City Band Auditorium in the Canberra Technology Park, Watson. $12 at the door.

The first “The George Big Gig” mini-festival at the George Harcourt in Gold Creek is on Saturday, from 3pm to midnight. Among others, the always fun Fuelers are playing two sets. There’s an outdoor stage and bar, food etc – and it’s free.
