I dont know about you but i shall be escaping to the coast for a wedding this weekend (and hopefully not crashing) on the way. I did however note that there are lots of pavillions being set up through the city for some sort of activity that escapes me due to a temporary bout of vagueness. The Australian Blues Festival is on in Goulburn.

Tonight (Thursday) the National Press Club hosts the inaugural satellite “Chain Awards” presentation (the Chain Awards are for Australian Blues musicians). Chase The Sun are playing, with The Young Guns as support.

Friday night, Annie and the Armadillos are playing at the Old Canberra Inn (I mentioned these guys in the wedding band story).

Over the weekend there’s various bands playing at the George Harcourt as part of the “Fringe by George” mini festival.

“The masters of not going to Iron Maiden(BOOOO), Changeable Dan on the old speckled hen tour. They don’t seem to sell it at the Phoenix so we’re heading to pristine surrounds of the George Harcourt Inn,” Free entry great music and beer. From 830-1130 Saturday 9th Feb.

Due to the variety of beers that accompanied them I confess to being somewhat hazy on who the vendors were.

The tents and marquees are for the multicultural festival. A chance to savour the rich cultural diversity of our community and an opportunity to contract food poisoning from a plethora of international cuisines.

Surely you jest, Jazzman.
