DIY Wotz on Guide for the weekend 07-JAN-05

By Thumper 6 January 2006 4

Okay kiddies, what’s the buzz, tell me what’s a happening?

Of course we have horse power heaven over at the Nats, and there’s some war/ anti war painting exhibition by Otto Dix at the NGA, as well as the Australian War Memorial’s ‘Shared Experience’ exhibition which has been fairly heavily advertised on TV.

The Durham Arms crew are no longer moving to the old Wig and Pen for a change in scenery and are in fact going to go the Durham as usual, and the Dandy Warhols are playing in Sydney, which is quite irrelevant.

So post away remembering JB and Ks RSVP rules.

What’s Your opinion?

Staying the O’Connor/Turner/Lyneham side of the “Bogan-proof fence” [Northbourne Ave]this year …I’m starting to hear the gentle hum of bogans in the distance as they commence their mating rituals in the captive breeding programme known as Summergnats. They descended on CIvic last year on the corresponding Saturday last year when the “grog tent” closed like plague locusts or one of the ten pestilences of Egyypt such that more responsible establishments like the Phoenix had to close early so that the great pestilence would pass their door and not injure the delicate sensibilities of their regular patrons.

Here’s hoping the organisers do the responsible thing and keep the grog tent perpetually open so that:
(1)They do not come nto town and annoy us or engage in violience in CIvic
(2)They do not drive into CIvic drunk in their search for the demon alcohol
(3)Last year Ainslie Village ran a drying out tent there [so I’m told] so it would be far safer and in their best interests to remain on site

….ergo the best way to achieve all of the above is to keep the grog tent going non-stop….it’s the only socially responsible thing to do…

Happy trails

You are all invited to join me for a picnic at Rockingham beach tomorrow night, if you can get a cheap airfare….

BTW ssanta,

I have been reliably informed that the Wig and Pen is out and that the Durham is now the go.

And I doubt that there’ll be many hotted up cars on drake Brockman drive, except mine if the SES get a call out so don’t fire oranges at a lowered white VN with the full spoiler kit and gold centred mags.

I shall be aiming my orange gun at any hotted up car that drives along Drakebrockman Drive. Frozen oranges are good for car ducos.
