For those of us staying in Canberra this last weekend before Christmas, the schools are finished and most of us are still at work until Thursday next week so there must be something to do between now and then besides attending another work Christmas function or farewell or even (shock horror) a work breakfast (is there anything worse?). So what are the best activities on this weekend?

And the best way to let everyone know? Why by posting a comment of course!

I forgot to publish this earlier.
But today there was a Reptile Exhibition at the old Garden Centre on Manheim St, Kambah. It went from 10 to 4. There hadn’t so many cars parked in the 2 car parks since the Garden Centre shut down more then 10 years ago.

Do something a little different this weekend – try EDEN ROAD WINES Cellar Door. Tastings are FREE. This is one of the best kept secrets in town, excellent wines and great prices all only 4 kms from Civic! These guys won the Jimmy Watson Trophy recently (the Melbourne Cup of wine making) and it’s a cool & classy experience to share with your friends from out of town. They’re open Sat & Sun 11am – 6pm at Kamberra Wine centre – Cnr Northbourne & Flemington Rd’s, opposite EPIC.

Check out the NEW “Bush Market” at Rose Cottage, Monaro Highway, Gilmore this Sunday 20th December from 10am to 2pm. This is in a great Bush setting with a great atmosphere. Come see handcrafted and other items – support your local craftspeople this Christmas! New stall holders are welcome! more info ring Clancy on 0409830983 or rosecottagecanberra.com

there is a rally against mammals in pet stores in front of pets paradise in Civic at 11 am tomorrow (SAT). Please come and support – we are trying to get some media interest. The more the merrier!

Ladies and Gentlemen sing at The Front, Lyneham Shops, Wattle St Lyneham, 6:30-9:30pm this Sunday Dec 20. 30 minute sets from some of Canberra’s finest singer songwriters including Simone Penkethman, Chanel Cole, Aaron Peacy, Gergor Murray and more

for some last minute christmas gifts try GINNINDERRA VILLAGE CRAFT MARKETS located at GOLD CREEK (near the abbey and old pub)
