ACT Policing has released a facefit of a man believed responsible for an aggravated robbery in Wanniassa last month.
On Friday October 26 around 4.30pm, three teenagers were sitting on the Wanniassa Playing Fields oval near Wheeler Crescent when they were approached by a man and a boy riding a dirt bike. The man threatened the three teenagers with a knife, and demanded they hand over their belongings.
The man and boy stole two iPods and a mobile phone from the teenagers, and were last seen riding along Wheeler Crescent towards Hyland Place.
The man (depicted in the facefit) is described as Caucasian in appearance with a skinny build and aged between 19-20 years of age. He had short brown or blond hair with a “rats tail”, and was wearing a black T-shirt, black tracksuit pants and a black bum bag around his waist.
The boy was described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 6-10 with short blond hair and a “rats tail”. He was wearing a blue long sleeved jumper and dark pants.
The man and boy are also believed to be responsible for an attempted aggravated robbery in Oxley around 10.20pm on Sunday October 28, where they demanded a phone from a teenager walking along the bike path next to Erindale Drive. The teenager ran away from the man and boy, and no property was stolen.
Anyone who recognises the man pictured in the facefit is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
