ACT Policing has released a CCTV image of five offenders from an aggravated robbery in Glebe Park last week.

Around 10pm last Wednesday 2 March, 2011, two males and two females were walking through Glebe Park when they were approached by a group of four males and one female.

Two of the victims were struck over the head with bottles, while the other two victims were kicked and punched. The offenders stole the victims’ wallets, phones and bags, and then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

All five offenders are described as being Caucasian in appearance, with one of the male offenders described as being tall with short hair. Another male offender is described as aged in his late teens or early twenties, and was wearing shorts and a grey hooded jumper at the time of the assault.

The female offender is described as having a slim build, of an average height and has blonde hair.

Anyone who may recognise any of the offenders from the image, or was near Glebe Park at the time of the aggravated robbery last week is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information may be provided anonymously.

Cleo – You don’t live somewhere in the ABC’s do you?

The Dark # 23

I have been told their staying with someone in the flats, and yeah there’s two stolen cars, so if cops don’t come out their just plain lazy, they can see for themselves, I will ring them again, the little turds have been quite as I told the girl who lives in the flat what I thought of doing. This group are bad news, always something going on.

Cleo – aah right, haha, yeah, fair enough, sorry, i though you meant actually go down and confront them face to face.

I think we should all just take a moment to remember the Simpsons where Ned Flanders confronts a group of young hoodlums for no real reason other than they are hanging around, an look how that turned out.

Point of the example is, if they’re not doing anything to warrant calling the cops, try taking a photo of them or write down a description and record time and date to report to crime stoppers.

The Dark # 21

I was safe, as I was looking out of my window, which is on the first floor, the units have a security door, and my unit has a fire door, so no, not worried, but did ring crime-stoppers today.

The Dark, the incidents occurred on different days during each week, over the past three weeks.

Tip offs received by the AFP.

Its only a matter of time before this group is apprehended.

Tuggeranong and North side kids travel all over the place during week nights as well as weekends alternating between buses and vehicles.

Location is irrelevant, for example, a group initiating their violence will not localise crimes committing in the one area such as Civic and Woden.

doesnt mean much if one group of people get done, they get out quick an theres still countless other packs of people out there doing the same sh!t, an there not exactly thuggies either, weren’t most of them meant to be hectics, like ‘mediterraneans’ or lebs or whatever anyway? so not this lot. An all the muggings commited by ‘offenders described as aboriginal or torres straight islander’, doubt thats this lot either.

My point being, is thats its nice that the cops got some footage of this lot, but its a drop in the ocean these days

Mmm Looks like the group hanging around the flats where I live which is near the city, they were talking loud, it was around 3am till after 4am last week, I was thinking of telling them to move on or ring the police, wish I had now.

Haha, arn’t you glad you didn’t confront them after what happened the night in question?

My mistake, I meant to say the path to the city**

is it just me, but does the cctv look like 3 males and 2 females … if i’m wrong the girl/boy at the rear is free to flame me

Nah, the one at the back is a guy, the tank top an haircut might be indicators…

and

#14 if this lot had a car wouldn they have headed to the carpark on the other side of the park instead of to the flats with the camera on the path? An tuggeranong is a bit of a way from civic to trek just to roll a few very unforetunate kids now an then.

Despite my cynisism, I do hope something is done soon to prevent more of these incidents occuring, once again, things are getting out of hand and it seems the police are at aloss as to what to do, well, officially anyway.

Oh no, the muma ghost of DFO thuggies has returned!

It always seems that the CCTV coverage is so poor as to be just about useless..

Better systems are available – at a cost of course.

If that cost is regarded as being too high by ACT GOVT well don’t waste the $$$ by putting in crap systems, spend it instead on something else ? Maybe more resources for Police or a Security Co. to provide some greater degree of public safety

Interesting. Another attempted random attack by a group of caucasian males in this age group in Tuggeranong only a few days ago.

Bats and knives came out of their vehicle after some young teenagers were asked for a cigarette and money.

The young kids managed to escape from them.

Despite this group perhaps having licences and vehicles, it maybe a helpful idea to send the image to Action for its Woden, City and Tuggeranong Depots in the hope that the group use public transport sometimes. Although baseball bats and large weapons are difficult to hide travelling on buses.

Also, these images should be sent by the AFP to schools for two reasons –

a. It alerts school kids around Tuggeranong, Woden and the City that this group and others are targetting innocent kids and adults randomly and increasingly at present, especially using the lines “Do you have a cigarette or money”? This line is used as an excuse, according to teenage victims, so that the perpetrators lay into kids and adults feining revenge (for not receiving the cigarettes or money). Perpetrators sieze the moment of shock by victims anyway, snatching personal belongings after their first assault.

b. the next “obvious” reason is to catch the perpetrators quickly before any person loses their balance hitting their head on pavements or fixtures dying or being brain damaged after assaults.

No, you have that wrong. The Bogan Parent will go off about how dare youse perscuet their kids, you have no right get off their case eat concrete etc etc, But there’s no way they are going to use the law to get you for it. They’ve spent their lives combating the law, and teaching their kids to do the same, and they have no interest in it.

So the next statement will be about sorting you out if they ever can find out who you are, they might even throw in some mouthings about anonymous cowards on the internet (except they’ll get angry while trying to spell anonymous and say something else).

clearly they’re good boys if they go around in a group and beat up people.. that’s so big of them!

Actually, it’s quite surprising that there isn’t more vigilante justice going on in Canberra, or maybe there is but we just don’t hear about it?

If wearing my underpants on the outside can save at least one person then the ridicule was worth it.

I swear I’ve seen them yesterday in Woden!!! But there were 5 guys and one girl with p!ss yellow bleached hair. That guy in trucker cap-was this white and blue? The one I saw yesterday had white front & blue back. However, he had yellow hair too.Disguise?

Take one blonde egging on 4 guys and that’s what happens

Typical how the robbers are a bunch of stick thin weasels. No wonder they need to roam around in groups. I’d love for them to try it on me sometime…

I agree Chaz, these punks would’nt last 10 seconds with me and I eagerly await the opportunity, just so long as my kids are not there though, becuase I don’t want them seeing what I’m capable of.
