ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery at the post office in Mawson this afternoon (Tuesday April 12).
About 4.30pm police received information that a man had entered the Mawson post office carrying a knife and had demanded cash from staff. The man is described as about 183 centimetres tall (6 foot), wearing a black top, grey pants and a black balaclava covering his face.
The man was seen leaving the area in a purple Hyundai Excel. The vehicle has since been located in Jelbart Street, Mawson.
Anyone who may have seen a vehicle matching this description prior to the robbery or may be able to assist police with the investigation are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
