Certain self centered ignornamii think ADFA is the only tri-service college in the ACT, neglecting the Australian Defence College.

According to this story on News Limited, that college had an exciting day today.

“There was an indication that something was amiss and staff started to evacuate the building when the roof came down to desk top and filing cabinet level,” he said.

Eight people had been in the immediate vicinity of the roof collapse, but 20 were in the entire building. Everyone has been accounted for.

So who was the builder?
I worked at Defence during a re-furb of the old buildings. It was a cheap job. One morning we came in and a huge roll of wire had crashed through the roof from above. If it had hit someone it would have been a disaster. I laughed when the re-furb project won somne award.

I think it pertinent to point out that some of the future leaders of the military of this nation managed to be under the wreckage after the roof had descended to desktop level.

It would be gallant if they had gone under the descending roof to rescue a kitten or something, but to remain under a sagging roof (ie it didn’t collapse immediately and they had time to escape but chose not to, or didn’t notice the roof caving in).

Well, that’s the result from lowering the entrance standards isn’t it ?

I wonder if Filipinos were involved in the construction of this building? 🙂
