Territory And Municipal Services have announced the most popular dog names in 2011:

    1. Max
    2. Jack
    3. Molly
    4. Bella
    5. Jessie
    6. Charlie
    7. Sam
    8. Oscar
    9. Lucy
    10. Toby

Apparently Canberrans are set in their ways on this one, with 2010 much the same except for a reordering of 8, 9, and 10.

To ask the obvious question: Why is a government department even recording the names of dogs? Do they do it for cats (who are also microchipped) as well? What about budgies?

Seriously, WTF?

Ha ha ha! I know a family with a Max and a Jack, and they’re not dogs. 🙂

Good to see people still paying tribute to The Bionic Dog.

That’s funny, various versions of Jessica/Jessie were on the list of most popular girls’ names for some years. Now it’s a popular dog name.
