Thanks for the help guys. Those berating those even thinking of care for their pet (or a child for that matter), need to lighten up. Has it occured to you that someone might need some help to sort out appointments? The question was asked by a friend who will be holidaying in Canberra, but needs somewhere for the dog to stay for a couple of hours whilst they take their 2 kids and niece to Questacon, where if I remember correctly you can’t take your pet. Taking their pet on holiday and having the dog at day care for a couple of hours is much better than leaving them in the kennel for 3 weeks whilst away.

If you are unable to look after your dog, why do you have one? It is hardly fair to a dog to be your posession, but only when appropriate, maybe you should look at a doll or a pet rock, if you’re worried about needing daycare.

Bit ruff.
I take good care of my dog and walk her every day.
Unfortunately I have to work 830 to 5 and my employer wont have a dog on site.
I would happily pay for doggy day care if I could find one.

Is there any in Canberra?

Hi,

We get Pups4Fun to help look after our dog during winter, when it is so hard to walk during daylight hours. There great.

Love Pups4fun. When no kennels are available – already Christmas and Easter are fully booked – these guys come to the house each day (twice a day if you want), walk the dog, feed it, bring in the mail….

highly recommend them. No longer use the kennels. 🙂

there really great

I’m sure these two posts are genuine but I can’t help feeling that there from the same poster…..

Glad I’m not the only cynic here. Was it the misuse of ‘there’ that gave it away?

They’d want to be really great, because they cost as much as a kennel. And yes, they’ll come to your house twice a day…if you pay them $40 – $65 (which would be much more than a kennel per day anyway, so what’s the point?).

Do you use the same line on parents who use daycare?

Surely he is looking after it if he is willing to pay for it to play with other dogs all day? It’s the ones left alone for 14 hours a day that are not looked after properly.

Does this apply to having children as well?

Honestly, if you dont have time to put into raising children and a family, then yes it probably should apply to children. Do you disagree that raising your own child is better than having a daycare worker do it?

For someone who is unable (or unwilling) to even walk their dog, and would rather pay someone else to do it and look after them all day, then it should doubly apply.. seriously, why bother?
