The Economic Development Directorate has published its thoughts on the much needed revitalisation of the once beautiful Downer shops.
The ACT Government, through the Economic Development Directorate, with the close involvement of the Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate, is developing a revitalisation strategy for the Downer local centre precinct.
The strategy will take into account the ACT Government’s proposed purchase of the former shops, the rezoning and subdivision of the former school site – with the view to permitting residential and commercial mixed use development – and strengthening the use and integrity of the existing sportsgrounds, community and heritage facilities.
They’re hoping to have the strategy done by October!
