A 52-year-old Gowrie man has been caught for the 9th time over the limit in the ACT. He also has five previous drink drive convictions in NSW.
On Thursday December 2 about 9pm, police were conducting mobile patrol on Charleston Street in Monash when they pulled over a green coloured Subaru Impreza for a random breath test. The driver returned a positive result and was taken back to Tuggeranong Police Station.
Between November 29 and December 6, a total of 31 people have been caught drink driving.
Of the 31 that returned positive results, 12 of the drivers have 0.00 to 0.02 limits. The highest reading was 0.251, which was for a 36-year-old 0.00 licence holder with two previous convictions. The highest reading for a 0.05 licence holder was 0.196.
The weekends continue to be the most problematic for drink drive offences in the ACT with 19 positives from Friday December 3 through to Sunday December 5.
