A Dunlop man is set to front court on Tuesday (6 June) accused of ramming a ute through the vehicle gate of the Gungahlin Joint Emergency Services Centre.
Police said the 21-year-old was allegedly seen driving a white Toyota Hilux erratically in the Belconnen area on Monday (5 June) at about 12:50 pm before deliberately driving into the gate at the rear of the building, which houses police, Gungahlin SES and fire services.
He was arrested at the scene and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.198, which is almost four times the legal limit.
The man’s vehicle was seized and he was charged with aggravated reckless driving, property damage, high-range drink-driving, possessing a prohibited substance and burglary.
