ACT Policing members overnight arrested a 25-year-old Bonner man in relation to firearm and drug offences.

Detectives investigating an incident in Kambah last month where a shotgun was allegedly discharged at a stationary motor vehicle, executed a search warrant at an address in Bonner yesterday morning (Thursday, January 17), seizing a shotgun and ammunition, drugs and a large quantity of cash.

The 25-year-old male was not present at this address when the warrant was executed. He was subsequently located in Chisholm around 9.15pm last night at which time he was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Friday, January 18) charged with unauthorised possession/use of a firearm, possess ammunition, drug trafficking and possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

Was training at the local primary school on Wednesday night, when we noticed two young blokes running on the roof. One of the boys went out to find 8 or 9 rats tail wearing scum parked in the carpark, told them to fuck off and took the rego of one of the two cars. On his way in he found a broken stereo. He rang cops but as the cars had left they were not really interested in taking the rego. When he said he thought been on the roof of a school might be enough to interest police but don’t fucking worry, the guy apparently begrudgingly took the rego and car details. The same bloke waited 45 mins after telling the neighbors ex to also leave on the Friday before the cops arrived, his missus had rung 000 but once he dealt with domestic violence man they didn’t have any work. His wife had told them the dude was blind and had driven away. He reckons the coppers are soft cocks too small and scared to arrive where their may be criminals

I’m sure this is an interesting story, but I couldn’t make heads of tails of it.

Yes, it sounds interesting. Could someone translate into English?

use to train a female cop too and she was the only one with any guts and in my opinion a top female copper only thing is shes no longer in the job, when i asked why her response was ” sick of all the bullshit ” i asked her what do u mean all the dickheads you have to arrest and she said ” no all the dickheads you work with.”

I do not doubt there are some hard-@rsed women working for AFP/Canberra Policing, but working with d!ckheads can come with any job/profession. Including law enforcement. CIT and CSIRO are two examples from recent headlines.

By the way, those making allegations against the victim of drug use based on the number of children she has, or any other such stereotyping, should be grossly ashamed of themselves. There are many reasons a young mother can end up on her own, or back living with her parents. Victim-blaming makes you look as had (bad I imagine?) as the offender.

Victim of drug use? Stereotyping? At some point she made a decision to become involved with this particular group. The issue of how many kids she has or who she lives with is irrelevant. My point was that matters of this nature are not random, and the biased CT piece which took her father’s opinion as gospel does not highlight this. Also, the CT journo should probably, in future, do a bit of investigating.

Isn’t this the case that has has been in the Crimes the last few days because the cops decided it was a grade 3 criminal damage event and therefore not worthy of vigorous investigation?

Methinks a few bums got kicked when the bad publicity appeared.

I thought I read that the police didn’t want to comment as it might jeopardize their ongoing investigation. Which if was the case would seem to be justified now that they have the culprit.

You are spot on. The imbecile who ran to the CT is probably glad now the police ignored his advice to do a media release, which would’ve given the crook a good heads up to get rid of the gun.

Thankfully the arm chair experts on this site aren’t cops or nothing would ever get solved.

As for binladen, no cop worth his salt would use a personal trainer as 99% of them are useless.

Don’t waste your time looking for an argument – I don’t do replies anymore (or even read them).

This response failed the logic test, or at least the hindsight test. Despite the increased publicity given to this incident BECAUSE the police did not oublicise it, the alleged perp still didn’t dispose of the weapon etc.

Obamablinladen might be surprised to know that not all police are “guys” – we allow women to join now.

Just a long way to say protect and serve!!!

Lets face it most cops are pissweak weaklings with attitude who’d rather book you for running an amber light then doing any real police work!

I use to train a few coppers in the gym and it amazed me how soft they were. Cops need to be tough and able to look after considering their job is to protect and serve.

Hmm protect and serve most coppers need to be reminded of this!!!

Yeah, protect and serve is a US term. And the double posting, incoherent rants and general flavour of your “contributions” is doing a better job of pushing the rood-munching stereotype than anything proboscus has said so far.

Back on topic, I’d say a valuable lesson here would be that for the sake of your car’s paintwork, you should probably pay for the drugs you take. It’s cute that Graham Wilson is so fervently backing his daughter, but perhaps he needs to start looking beyond coincidence?

Until drugs are legalised, they are free for the taking. Why pay?

@ proboscus

I bet you are a pissweak cop, you took offence at my comment then tried to attack me with a stereotype and a genital comment! Typical mate you just prove my point of having that chip on your shoulder.

Im sure there are still some good coppers on the job who are fit and brave and respect their job and i dont mean to offend these guys however they are a very small minority who would 100 percent agree with what im saying.

obamabinladen10:40 pm 18 Jan 13

@ proboscus please explain to me how im gloating about being big tough and muscular??? Obviously you can read but you dont comprehend what you’ve read. Ill say it again i use to train a few cops in the gym and it amazed me how piss weak they were!!! No gloating buddy just astonishment that these guys were deemed fit enough to be given the power to arrest and are suppose to be protecting the public all i can say is nice guys but in my opinion not up to the job.

Maybe it’s time for a much bigger and far more visible paramilitary force to be put out there, along the lines of some European countries.

And lifting heavy things makes you brave and courageous? Or big noting yourself and bagging cops anonymously makes you think you’re tougher than the average cop?

In my experience most blokes that spend a lot of time in the gym are pea-hearted clothes horses who build up their bodies due to their under-sized genitals. I’m guessing you’re one them, button dick…!!!

Having worked in the ACT government at Housing ACT, I can tell you the easiest way to get something done is write to the minister. A ministerial is the most hated thing someone can get because they have to get off their arses and give their minister an answer. If the AFP aren’t doing their duty, write to Corbell and whoever the opposition police MLA is.

They never even turned up at my home to ‘investigate’ the attempted home invasion on Fathers Day some years ago. 2 neighbours called the plods, they drove past and did not come in to interview me or the neighbour caring for a terrified me. Never even found the culprits phone dropped in the garden, we found it next day, handed it in, never to hear another word. I live in fear now, locked in.

A Smith & Wesson (or in this case, a Glock) beats four aces so why can’t they be pissweak?

Is protect and serve even a valid term in aus?

Anyways, I can’t comment as I’ve had no first hand experience reporting anything to police, but if its as bad as peeps say then everyone with a bad experience needs to go public with it.
More public attention increases chances of fixing problems.

I think the daughter having three kids under five to three different farther s may have something to do with it

Hmmmmm.

Peopleapparently known to the police and the subjects of an ongoing investigation shoot at an empty car parked outside a house.

I’m sure cases of mistaken identity occur, but I’m wondering if someone connected to that house upset some drug dealers.

Here is the story from yesterday’s Crimes:

http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/shotgun-blasts-to-car-were-criminal-damage-20130117-2cvhu.html

“While the woman, who is still badly shaken by the incident, does not want to be named, her father, Graham Wilson, is irate that police did not arrive at the scene until almost 12 hours after the attack, that the matter was not made public and no appeal for witnesses was made.

“When police were advised by the complainant that ‘this most likely happened last night’ the response priority was scaled back to a Criminal Damage Priority Three in accordance with our Priority Response Model,” an ACT Policing spokeswoman said.

Priority Three is the lowest ranking on the response model and does not require police to attend a crime scene. The December incident is believed to be only the second shotgun attack in the ACT in 2012.”

and

“ACT Policing classified the shotgunning of a car in Kambah on December 27 as an act of criminal damage because it was reported several hours after it happened, giving them 48 hours to respond.

This was despite the fact possible suspects were known to police and they were already the subject of an ongoing investigation.”

If someone shotgunned my car, I would not be impressed that it was rated the same as kids vandalising a letterbox. And, since they already had the alleged perp(s) on the radar, why did it take 3 weeks to get a search warrant?

It is not reassuring that the safety of members of the public is treated in a fashion reminiscent of the operation of the ACT Supreme Court, where, as the High Court said, ” torpid languor of one hand washes the drowsy procrastination of the other.”

Just to show issue this isn’t confined to the ACT, several years ago someone shot and killed three alpacas (father mother and baby) on a rural property on the way to Captains Flat. The owners didn’t discover them until the next day, as they were away overnight. With several residences within a couple of hundred metres, one could have defined this as a drive-by shooting, an attempt at intimidation or something like that.

But not NSW police, who presumably wth an eye to the crime statistics, classified it as a stock crime, referred it to the stock squad who turned up 10 days later and only then after a bit of community activism. By which time the owners had had to bury the alpacas (including any bullets within them).

There had been a shooting competition at the Captains Flat gun club that weekend, so it would have been easy to make some enquiries of gun club members (how many competition participants came from that direction etc, and if not many, then interview them all). But that would be too much like hard work. But do you really want someone like that holding a gun licence?

They were very apologetic, blaming a junior officer for a bad decision, but that’s easy to say, and it remains to be seen whether they’d do the same thing again.
