Dud 3 D cinema

I hate 3D cinema.

I hate the heavy clunky specs.

I hate the fact that Dendy uses particularly clunky and heavy specs that require batteries.

Most of the batteries are flat and I sat through a particularly boring 3D film trying to get the specs to work and failed.

there is nothing worse than 3D film with dud 3D specs, except it being implied it was your fault that the specs were non-functional when you complain to the cinema manager.

In my group, half of the specs didn’t work.

Dud specs, dud movie, should have stayed at home.

Don’t go to Dendy, the shuttered technology glasses suck monkey balls. Hoyts (and pretty much everyone else in Australia) use passive polarised glasses which I find alot better.

Thanks Winter. Good advice.

Panasonic plasma’s, can’t go wrong.

“I hate 3D cinema.”

…So why did you go and watch a 3d movie?

I’m looking for a TV at the moment, as I don’t currently have one.

Think I can find one that

a) is decent
b) doesn’t have 500 features I don’t care about
and
c) isn’t $3500?

I’m half thinking about forking out the $3500 (Leowe) simply because i’m sick of speaking to people who try and sell me 3D this and smartTV that….

grrrr

I’ve got a 68cm Sony CRT sitting in my lounge room which is decent, its only feature is being a TV, and you can have for $50.

Alternatively, you will be able to get a 40 inch +, full HD, Japanese brand TV for under $800 in pretty much any electronics store. The Korean brands are also pretty decent and are even cheaper.

Are you serious? You can’t find a decent TV for under $3,500? Your standards must be impossibly high then.

If you’re not interested in features, why not just head into a store, and pick a TV with a size and picture quality you’re happy with? You can just ignore features then – you shouldn’t even need a sales person until you need to tell someone what you want to buy. Not that hard really.

It depends on which movie and which screen you see at Dendy, for all the ones I have been to they’ve used the passive polarised glasses.

I think you can only pick one out those. Remember, you don’t HAVE to use all these features.
The TV won’t yell at you, demanding that you use all these features right this very second or it
will get rather cross with you.

Go to a cinema that uses the polarised system instead of the shutter one, such as Limelight in tuggeranong.

The glasses are much lighter (being only simple plastic frames and thin film lenses), do not rely on batteries or synchronisation to work, and usually only add $1 to the price of the ticket.

Sadly, all this probably won’t make the movie any better.

Solidarity – seriously, you’d pay three times more to get a TV that has *less* features? You realise that you don’t have to use them, right? Alternatively, buy yourself a projector.
