Has anyone else in Canberra noticed the excess amount of dust that has seemed to appeared in the last month or so? Lived here now for like 5yrs and never noticed it to be so bad or at all.

I can hose the car windows one day and by the next morning its dusty like I have been driving around out back…also at work I use my wipers on the way by that arvo after work, dusty again…I’m not complaining I don’t really care I’m just more curious if anyone knows why. construction maybe?

Just for the record I work on the near opposite end of Canberra as to were I live.

pollen pollen everywhere , no dust to be seen :p

Yup been told its Pollen, tho i never noticed it before, i do remember the dust storm but that wasn’t for as long.

Gotta wash the windows on the car somehow, it is illegal to have windows that are too dirty and annoying ^^.

dust anyone? dust? yes? dust? no? dust? yes? dust? anyone? dust?

this is great news for the obesity epidemic…

Seems more like dust to me. It’s quite red and, er, dusty

Yeah… what he said.

Many radiata pine plantations “went off” over the last couple of weeks, releasing a visible haze of pale yellow pollen that adds a faint “piney” scent to the air.

Nevertheless, the previous inland wetness (dumping clay/silt upon levees) is reportedly going to get up in the air (along with those locusts) when the surface dries-out.

Mixture of dust blown from out west in the strong wind that’s been about in the last week and pollen. Typical for the week after I washed my car.

Yeah – I’ve certainly noticed it. Pollen sounds right for this time of year. Does anyone have a microscope?

Just the other day there was a news article about upcoming dust storm that will be hitting south-east Australia.

Here is the article.

I’m surprised nobody’s suggested pollen.

I’m surprise nobody’s pinged Eyl for hosing their car windows in breach of water restrictions.

Washing car windows is fine, but not using a garden hose.

I guess you missed the big dust storm last year ?

You live in Gungahlin don’t you…

Definitely pollen. My car has a nice layer of green/yellow on it.

I think it’s pollen, rather than dust.

Are you getting pollen and dust confused by any chance?
