Simon Corbell has announced planning changes (he calls them improvements) for Tuggeranong:

“The ACT Government released the plan which set out the vision for the Kambah Group Centre while also
addressing issues like parking availability and ease of movement around the retail precinct. This draft Variation
317 (DV317) will guide future development while maintaining the village feel that Kambah residents cherish.

“The Kambah centre was the first to be developed in Tuggeranong and through community consultation during
the master planning process we learnt it is highly valued for its distinct style of architecture, which has served
surrounding residents well for nearly 37 years.”

The key elements of the draft variation:
— allow an increase in building height in parts of the centre from two to three and four storeys, stepped to ensure adequate sunlight to public open spaces;
— provide for a new road connection to Primmer Court to improve vehicle and pedestrian circulation around the centre;
— enable relocation of car parking to make land available for additional retail and mixed use development; and,
— retain surface level car parking for the convenience of centre patrons.

Full details are on the legislation register

No mention of expanded park and ride facilities,linked with express bus services. This I would have thought should have been one of the key outputs, and was raised with them in the consultation period. Given this is the largest suburb in Canberra by far, you would think this would be a priority if the government does in fact have a true green tinge to it.
