I have a bunch of stuff to get rid of like a fax machine and vcr’s.

What do I do with them? they are e waste but aren’t listed specifically on any e-waste link from the Canberra ecowaste site or google. I also took a brief look through the archive and couldn’t find what I was looking for

I don’t particularly want to pay to dispose of them or just dump em but I will if I have too.

Help anyone????????? please it would be muchly appreciated.

Ah. That must be why, when I took my e-waste with great confidence to Mitchell, I got charged $40 and told the legislation wasn’t in yet. I had thought it was. So obviously no breath-holding, then? Really got my goat that I had to pay for the privilege of them selling my stuff.

Sigh – When that has happened in the past, I have declined to pay, dumped the ‘free’ items and simply taken the e-waste back home – there is no way they are getting my $40……

Someone might be sure of the date, but new legislation is on the brink of coming in that will allow you to dump e-waste for free at Mitchell (and maybe elsewhere, I don’t know). Perhaps ask Canberra Connect if they know. I’m pretty sure it’s within the next 6 months or so…..

You must mean the long awaited national scheme for e-waste which appears to have been stalling for ages. I believe it was supposed to start last year. Let’s hope it actually manages to start sometime this year! Wouldn’t be too confident of that though..

See if Renewable Processes will take them. They’re e-waste recyclers, though I think they mainly deal with PCs and televisions.

They’re located at Parkwood Recycling Precinct in Macgregor.
