Early call for Daffodil Day volunteers

Events in Sydney today (service for Jane McGrath) hasten me to mention that Daffodil Day is this year on Friday 22 August. Each year, the Cancer Council ACT recruits an army of volunteers to help sell merchandise in shopping centres, businesses, workplaces and at various events.

(Pink Ribbon Day is on 27 October.)

If you can help, please contact the Cancer Council ACT:

Phone: 1300 65 65 85
Email: events@actcancer.org
Web address: http://www.actcancer.org/fundraising-events/default.aspx?id=4

I’d wager most people have been affected in some way by cancer; either personally, or through having a family member, friend or colleague suffer (and hopefully, survive) this insidious disease.

For me, Daffodil Day will be ten years to the day since my little bro’ lost the good fight to multiple brain tumours at the tender age of 26 years. His music lives on; I just wish he did too.

Trying to think of some reason to get one last shameless plug/call in for volunteers.

No, can’t think of one. I’ll be off now.

Sorry to drag this one up again, however, Cancer Council ACT are struggling to cover their stalls due to last minute cancellations.

If you’re able to help for a couple of hours in one of the areas below, they would really appreciate your help.

Not so much as an early call now, but a reminder/request to support the Cancer Council ACT this week with your purchases of Daffodil merch. I haven’t seen them yet, but there were mini-footballs in the catalogues. They tend to go PDQ.

If anyone’s still of a mind to help out, you can give the CCACT a yodel using details above.

I’ll be working the Canberra Centre stall on Friday morning.

Good luck, I can’t volunteer either, but will buy daffodils and encourage all of my friends / family to do the same.

(mum is in remission for breast Cancer) damn bluecoat! I just had to apply to use the word!

Best of luck. I can’t volunteer but will certainly buy a few daffodils.
