Greens:

Meredith Hunter has put her education media release online but the education policy is still old news.

Amanda Bresnan promises that the Greens will pursue “Universal Housing Design” should we elect enough of them to make a difference. My understanding is this means making sure all public housing is suitable for the elderly to live in, creating less need to move into specialised accommodation (at a cost).

Labor:

The inseperable duo of Jon Stanhope and Katy Gallagher have announced that if re-elected they’ll spend $33 million to establish a “Cancer Centre of Excellence” at TCH.

Liberals:

Brendan Smyth promises to restore greatness to the local tourism industry under his prospective stewardship.

Mulcahy Canberra Party:

Richard has told the Canberra Times that he thinks sport is great. Other parties agree.

labor:

how can you have a cancer centre of excellence if the rest of the hospital is overworked and has very limited resources? fix the hospital’s existing problems, katy. children’s area at the ED – what were you thinking? try fixing some of the ICU ward’s amenities for staff, increasing the numbers of beds, and getting more nursing staff to provide support for the wards.

How many beds and additional staff could have been provided with the money wasted on the children’s area?

Should say Universal Access home design.
Wider doors, lever handles, wheelchair turnaround space, no steps, living and bedrooms on the same level, that sort of thing. House you grow old in, or get an acquired disability (fall off a motorbike for instance) and not have to sell up and move from.
(I.e. my house)
