Electric air conditioning installer in Canberra?

I am asking around about installers of electric ducted reverse cycle air conditioning.

Sadly our 20-year-old gas wall heating has decided to die (it came with the house).

I am aware of a similar query back in 2013 on RiotACT but would appreciate any advice on more recent experiences. It seems that electric is the way to go.

Can anyone recommend a Canberra company who can advise on, sell, and install electric ducted reverse cycle air conditioning? All (polite) stories and advice appreciated.

I am not sure if my comments are helpful but I am currently in the process of submitting a formal complaint to the Consumer Affairs. We purchased a fully ducted Mitsubishi reverse cycle from ActewAGL air conditioner three years ago and I have been complaining to them to have the unit repaired or replaced but they have done nothing. Here is a summary of what is wrong:

(1) The unit was not installed properly – this was confirmed by engineers from Mitsubishi in Sydney.
(2) The unit is so loud when operated in heating mode it is unusable. It is in fact a health hazard as it gives me headaches. By comparison, the unit next door – a similar reverse cycle, ducted system – is noise free. The noise I refer to, which was confirmed by a service technician from ActewAGL last year, is a humming sound that rises well above the sound of air coming passing through the blades. I suspect it originates in the heat exchanger but I intend to get an independent expert (an engineer from the Society of Engineers Australia) to verify it. I also intend to have the Department of Public Health come in to measure and quantify the noise.
(3) A penetration was made in a wall of our home but has not been repaired. Despite number of calls we have made, nothing has been done.

So basically we have a brand new system that we cannot use in winter and have to resort to using a space heater to heat our home.

Thanks for the recommendation for Fully Air Conditioned – we have booked Craig for advice and a quote – so will see how it goes.

Have had them install two ducted systems, both times they were excellent and I can’t fault them. I dealt with Craig both times.

I’d be interested too – have a great wood heater but need an air con, and understand reverse cycle is efficient and cheaper than gas.
