Thank you p1, hope you are enjoying the new site (work in progress) and live stream. Completed a huge upgrade last weekend, replaced the old coax with some heavy duty stuff and moved the antenna closer to the sun 😉

Yes there are lots of apps available both IOS and Android, scanner hobbyists like myself supply the feeds or URL of the live feed to them 🙂

Cracking Encrypted Digital has been talked about for years, but I have not seen or heard anyone being successful 😉

Scanning is still legal and my online scanner is still online, have been broadcasting since 2003. We are using 2 scanners at the moment. Online to the world is the digital scanner as most ACT Government departments have migrated across. The government departments still on the 400Mhz (analog) assignments have to migrate across to the GRN (Government Radio Network) or TRN (Trunked Radio Network) by Dec2018. ACT ESA are now rebroadcasting their radio transmissions from the TRN Digital to their old VHF analog bushfire Channel during the Bushfire Season. Most of the radio traffic is one sided and is only RFS & SES base calls. The units in the field cannot be heard, only the base. The idea of this is to help the public be more aware of any Bushfire threats within the area and be able to take appropriate action. You will be able to get localized up to date weather reports and local fire reports. The rebroadcasting is mainly aimed at providing information to farmers in the surrounding district who are equipped with the right radio or scanner receiver..

I suspect that what you will find it that this is just the south coast Police, which includes Queanbeyan, as they are still on the old analogue systems. The ACT has moved to digital signals which are scrambled so you wont hear them. Many areas still havent moved over to digital though including the regions north and south of Sydney. The Greater Sydney region has.

It should be all right if you just listen & not act. But them it depends if you know anyone in that profession. As you don’t want to hear over the radio that a family member has carked it. But you would prefer to have the knock on the door by the Police & be given the professional response. Of course for the reason that the public scan radios different codes are used.
I’ve listened to it a few times & from what I have heard it is just from Queanbeyan Police. ACT ESA radios have some jibberish on them that is meant to stop scanners, but no idea if it works.
